Live delivery tracking for a food ordering marketplace

We built key production modules for a food marketplace, including real-time delivery tracking and the delivery partner app now live on iOS and Android.

The marketplace needed accurate live delivery tracking that respected privacy, worked on lower-end phones with weak connectivity, and stayed in sync across customer, restaurant, and delivery partner apps across many ordering modes.

What we built

When a delivery partner accepts an order, location tracking starts. Customers see a live map, route, and ETA. Status alerts fire as the order moves from confirmed to preparing, picked up, on the way, and delivered. Tracking stops when the order is complete.

The delivery partner app is built for real field conditions: weak networks, battery limits, and phones that are not always top-end. Status updates queue offline and sync when the connection returns.

Why it mattered

Customers get a clear view of where their order is. Ops teams keep one order flow across many ordering modes. Privacy stays tighter because location is captured only while a delivery is active.

Results

  • Live delivery tracking in production on iOS and Android

  • Delivery partner app published and used in active operations

  • Order status updates reach every party in near real time

  • Tracking runs only during active orders, not in the background
